Extremely High Oil pressure

Post by TrailDust » Wed May 10, 2017 10:41 am

What would cause my oil pressure gauge to go to 80? Was at 40 when I started it up today but started climbing as I went down the road. Cut the engine off just in case but everything seemed to feel fine. No unfamiliar noises.

Could also be the oil pressure switch, but I'd start with the sending unit. It's about $30. Pressure switch is around $100 and dealer only.
