There are three actuators on the side. You'll have to determine which one it is for sure. I believe I posted the model numbers of each actuator in my write up.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have a very similar issue to this, when I turn on the my Trailblazer I have the exact same sound as described above for about 20-30 seconds and then it stops. Only happens when the car turns on and no matter what button I mess with it in the car it doesn't change so I'm not entirely sure whats causing it.

Like wsvi, check by resetting your HVAC system and see if it fixes the issue. If not, it's most likely a bad actuator. They're fairly cheap and easy to replace. The link above is to a writeup I did on replacing one of the actuators. Skip to the portion where it talks about resetting the system by removing the HVAC fuse. Let us know how yours turns out.

Maybe an hour but I was taking notes and pictures and also taking my time. I took my gas pedal out for easy clearance.

No SS for this trip. Not enough space for a family of 5 plus luggage. Gotta take the wife's Kia. :bs:

As for the resetting. I wasn't aware of the reset working when mine initially did this. I replaced without trying the reset. Can't remember if I trashed the old actuator.

The first time I tried the reset it didn't work ,we took my wife's Honda Odyssey to Florida and I hate to say this but it is more comfortable than the SS plus it went 550 miles on one tank of gas.
